A brand spanking new plan

Okay, so this week sucked, bus-wise. Let’s be honest. It was nearly an hour late on Monday night, and about 25 minutes late on Tuesday morning. I don’t need this shit. It takes me 20-25 minutes tops to drive in my car, and over an hour to take the bus.

So.

We’ve reached an impasse.

But I’m not giving up entirely yet. I’m going to recalibrate my route. On Tuesday, I’m gonna take Big Blue the whole way there and back, using ONLY Olympic Blvd. None of this Wilshire to Westwood, Westwood to Olympic crap.

And then we’ll take it from there.

If this fails me, we may have to break up.

Do you understand what I’m saying, bus?

My first trip on Big Blue: Mall-elujah

Okay, so they call the Santa Monica bus system “Big Blue” because the buses are…blue. (Culver City is green; Metro can be red, for the Metro Rapid, which is anything but, or orange and black. One day I’ll write a color-related post on the different areas.)

I took Big Blue from work to the Century City mall on Wednesday night to catch a flick with the hubby at the AMC.

Get this: the bus dropped me off RIGHT OUTSIDE the mall. I thought for sure I’d have to walk along Ave. of the Stars or Constellation Blvd. against traffic or something, but it literally dumped me at the steps to the mall in back, no transfers, no walking, no parking lot nastiness! The Hallelujah Chorus came on as I strolled up to buy movie tickets and linger at the Armani Exchange. I’ll definitely be making that trip again, because when my husband arrived in the car, the lot was full and he had no choice but to pay for valet parking ($12). My cost was 75 cents.
