Yesterday, Thursday, I took the bus to work, but not home, because my husband had a networking event down in Marina del Rey. He picked me up and we got on the 405. Always great for the nerves.
Every time we had to change lanes, my heart sped up. The Honda Civic seems like an adorable lil death trap to me now. He’s a great driver, but I felt claustrophobic and way too close to the road as we zipped along.
It was the first time I’d been in a car all week. On Saturday, I’m going to a party about an hour away and I’m not looking forward to driving, though I’ll be in the Toyota and presumably a bit more comfortable. Ugh.
In other news, I finished “Picture of Dorian Gray” and started “Joy Luck Club.” I’d finished one of Amy Tan’s other books, “Saving Fish From Drowning” a few weeks ago and decided to give her first book a try. I’m only one chapter in, but I love it so far.
